Melissa Vander Kooi is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has provided mental health service to the West Michigan community for over 18 years. She has assisted individuals by providing inpatient hospitalization, partial hospitalization and outpatient care for children, adolescents and adults struggling with a variety of mental health concerns. She earned both her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s degree in Counseling at Western Michigan University.

Melissa is dedicated to providing effective, confidential, respectful and compassionate counseling care that meets the individual needs of each client. She takes a collaborative approach with her clients in identifying the strengths and abilities that already exist within them. Melissa then builds upon these strengths and abilities with the client to develop skill sets which assist them in overcoming their challenges and achieve functioning that is both rewarding and fulfilling.
